3 urban guides to Copenhagen - all usergenerated (and powered by Google maps)

Filed under: Content, New Media, Design, New Media — Jon Lund @ 21:59

After my post two weeks ago on kbh360.dk - a new guide to bars, restaurants etc. of Copenhagen, 2 other sites showed up in the comments-field to the post. That’s what we are doing to, they said.

And frankly yes - they do look quite the same, don’t you think?

Kbh360.dk:
 kbh360.dk

MitKbh.dk:
mitkbh.dk

Storbyliv.dk:
storbyliv.dk

(I did cheat a little: you’ll have to click a submenu to get the to the Google maps mashups in mitkbh and kbh360. On storbyliv the Google map IS the frontpage. And actually storbyliv is different from the other two, focusing on events (making it a calendar) rather than on places like the other two, which by that token becomes more guide-like.)

  2. […] Guides are really big these days it seems. The other day I told about three new city-guides - and now we have yet another guide-site. This time only the destination is the whole world, not just Copenhagen. […]

  3. Hi. Actually Aarhus also has its own usergenerated city guide. Its called http://www.mangospot.dk and we have been around since last year. It wont be possible to make a screen dump that will make us look like the sites above :-)
We have both reviews and a event calendar.

  5. […] (In this respect mitkbh.dk is not a all unique. Lots of sites around the world have been integrating their own (mostly usergenerated) content with Googles maps in this way. And at least 3 other Copenhagen City-guides does exactly the same (as I’ve written about in 3 urban guides to Copenhagen - all usergenerated (and powered by Google maps). And the technique actually has a name: “mash-up” it’s called.) […]
